EAA Jan 2012 Field Trip - Solomon Islands

This is a past event.

Emergency Architects Australia is offering 20 people the opportunity to travel to Obombollu in The Solomon Islands to participate in the delivery of village latrines over a 2 week period.

The project site is on the island of Ranongga, where EAA has been working since the 2007 earthquake and tsunami, and is part of a wider national sanitation program. You will be accompanied by an experienced member of the EAA team and work alongside the community living in a typical village.

The community will provide all meals, which usually consists of rice, vegetables, fruit, tapioca and great seafood including tuna. There will also be time to learn about the community, visit significant sites and join the village in their afternoon volley ball competition.

Date: 8 – 20 January 2012

Cost: $3500 ex Brisbane and includes; all flights, transfers, local travel, accommodation, food, insurance and a contribution to materials for the project.

We require a deposit of $700 to be paid by 25 November in order to hold the airline seats. The final $2,800 is to be paid by 12 December.
