The State Library of Victoria is putting their photo collections online.

You can get to it via 'collections', then 'pictures' near the bottom of the screen, then 'pictures collection'
Had a look at contemporary photos of Walter Burley Griffen houses last night.
They are still tweaking it but there is a massive heap beyond listing and quite a good navigation tool. If your into pre and early twentieth century the entire glass plate and glass slide collection is on to view.
