Design ideas by diagram – 10 concepts for community

This event has passed.

Student Lounge, Ground Floor, Baldwin Spencer Building (Building Numer 113)
University of Melbourne
Parkville,   Melbourne
Victoria,   Australia

In the third and final series of Concepts for 2012, Concepts 1 addresses the idea of community in the lead up to Melbourne Architecture Annual (MA|A). What might an architectural project offer the community? How can architecture work to build and regenerate communities? What might we learn through this engagement?

Three Melbourne architects each present ideas about working with and enhancing various communities via a single project described in 10 slides in 10 minutes.
Hosted by Tania Davidge of OpenHAUS, the Concepts sessions investigate the ideas behind projects rather than focusing on the completed object. Concepts is a platform for architects to build a collective design knowledge. It is an opportunity to talk about design ideas and present them in a way that others can use and share.

Speakers:
- Michelle James, Here Studio
- Simon Knott, BKK, on the Revitalising Dandenong masterplan
- Neville Cowland, NOW Architecture, on Meadows Primary School
Chair: Tania Davidge, OpenHAUS
