VOLUME

Known for their work with U2, Massive Attack, The Arctic Monkeys and Kylie Minogue, UK-based United Visual Artists will launch their latest installation, ‘VOLUME’ on 4 June. With a soundtrack arranged by Neil Davidge and Robert Del Naja of Massive Attack, this incredible fusion of light and sound will see a forest of luminous LED columns light up Fed Square during The Light in Winter. The columns respond spectacularly to human movement and visitors are encouraged to walk, crawl, jump and dance their way through this interactive installation.

United Visual Artists (UVA) is a London-based art and design practice creating large-scale light-based installations. UVA creates more than mere spectacle - its work is about people. Just as the experience of music is transformed by the presence of thousands of people in a concert hall, so their work aims to create a powerful social experience, turning the audience into active participants

The Light in Winter 2009 marks the first time UVA's large-scale work has been produced in Australia.
